The Story Behind Lost and Crowned:More Than Just Hair
The struggle often starts silently. For our founder, Tina Fludd, it began with an unexpected journey through hair loss caused by alopecia. It was more than a physical change; it affected her sense of identity, confidence, and the simple courage needed to step out the door. This deeply personal and isolating experience became the catalyst for a mission rooted in dignity, confidence, connection, and hope.
A New Vision: Restoring the Whole Person
This deeply personal experience became the foundation for a larger commitment. Lost and Crowned was founded on a simple but profound belief: No one should have to sacrifice their confidence, dignity, or sense of self because of circumstances beyond their control.
As Lost and Crowned grew, we began to see that the challenges of isolation, loss of confidence, and major life transitions extend far beyond hair loss. People were navigating different circumstances and needed different forms of support. That realization led us to expand our work into a diverse ecosystem of specialized programs designed to meet people where they are and restore the whole person, inside and out.
The Confident Crown Initiative
The Confident Crown Initiative provides no-cost wigs, specialized cranial prostheses, essential care kits, and confidence support for individuals experiencing documented hair loss. The program is designed to reduce financial and access barriers while helping individuals navigate the visible and emotional challenges that can accompany hair loss.
The Courage, Confidence Collective (C³)
C³ is our structured personal development and life-readiness program for individuals navigating significant life transitions. Meeting participants where they are, C³ provides supportive services, peer connection, goal-setting, mentorship, and life-readiness skills designed to build confidence, resilience, self-advocacy, and the tools needed to move forward.
The Huddle Zone
for Men
Peer Support Program For Men.
The Huddle Zone was created in recognition of the need for a dedicated space where men can connect, share openly, and navigate life's challenges without judgment. It provides a supportive community centered on peer connection, brotherhood, wellness, and self-care. Through gatherings, game nights, sports watch parties, conversations, and men's retreats, participants have opportunities to connect, have fun, learn, and support one another.
We’re Restoring What Was Lost
Every person who comes to Lost and Crowned has an opportunity to reclaim their story and move from isolation toward connection, confidence, and empowerment.
This experience taught us that meaningful transformation happens when we restore the visible and nurture the invisible: confidence, emotional well-being, connection, and a renewed sense of self. Our goal is to ensure that every individual, regardless of their path, has access to the resources, support, and connection they need to look in the mirror and see not their circumstances, but a person who is equipped, empowered, connected, and ready to move forward.
